Not all tyre punctures can be repaired. Find out when it’s safe to fix a tyre—and when replacing it is the only safe option.

🔧 Tyre Repair or Replace? When a Damaged Tyre Can—and Can’t—Be Fixed
Tyre damage is frustrating—but not always the end of the road. In some cases, a simple repair is possible. In others, a replacement is essential for your safety.
So how do you know the difference?
✅ When a Tyre Can Be Repaired
A tyre can usually be repaired if:
- The puncture is in the central tread area
- The hole is no wider than 6mm
- The tyre structure is not compromised (no bulges, no visible cords)
- The sidewall is undamaged
- The tyre hasn’t been driven on while flat

❌ When You Must Replace It
Tyre repair is not safe if:
- The sidewall is punctured or cracked
- The damage is too close to the edge of the tread
- There are multiple punctures
- The tyre has previous repairs near the same spot
- The tyre shows internal damage, cords or bubbles
